Default Ski Storage

Just wanted to say hello as a new member.

I have a 99 Z272 Shabah and was wondering if anyone has problems with water in the ski storage. On my boat there are no drain holes in it.

Does anyone know if I can drill a hole in it and if so will it drain into the bilge?

Welcome aboard tmonson. That Z272 is the envy of your lake i'm sure. There are a few others here with similar boats so i'll have to let them answer your question about the ski storage area. I would think there would have to be some sort of drainage though...

    Hello tmonson,

    Welcome th the club!

I would employ the services of a local teenager and armed with a good flashlight, have him go into the locker and carefully examine the floor and rear corners of the locker for any kind of indents or holes that can be felt through the carpet.

Right after we got our Mariah it appeared to have the same issue but upon closer examination we discovered a slit on the floor in the carpet about 4 inches from the rear wall. Sticking a finger through the slit confirmed this was the hole for the drain. A little while later while cleaning the rest of the boat, we found as small plastic grate and low and behold, it fit the drain hole the ski locker. It's back on with SS screws and all is well.

So give this a try and hopefully you'll find yours!

If all else fails, I would try PMing one of our members with a 272, like perhaps "Z272"

    WetWilly
