Default New to this!

New to forum so I don't know if I am doing this right. Name is Brad and I own a z212 Shabah. I am a contributor and was wandering where I can find any wiring diagrams you may have? Having trim issues, trim will go down but not up.

    Welcome to the MOC Bfehringer!

Sounds like your trim solenoids are going bad. This is a common problem, which is relatively easy to fix. Solenoids just need to be replaced on the trim pump, the Mercruiser solenoids are about $50 each, but you can easily source these solenoids online for much cheaper. I found them for $12 each, and will be replacing them on mine this weekend.

One of our star members, MikeyT wrote this article which you'll probably find very helpful.
Trouble Shooting your Power Trim & Tilt Motor System

The trim system wiring diagrams are located in the Mercruiser service manuals, which you should have access to, it's under the Maintenance and Repairs section.

    Good luck!

Ok thanks. After getting familiar with this forum I eventually found my why around. The electrical part of the trim system isn't that complicated of a setup but I am a firm believer in working smarter, not harder and any help is always appreciated.

Here is a silly question but if you are talking about boating when you say "new to this" ,are you using the trim switch on the throttle or the trailer switch to get the drive to come up? Just asking. May have happened to someone I might know when they were new to this

Yeah I'm new to forums is what I meant. You are right, the trailer switch works both ways, the throttle switch don't work to trim up. That's what's making me think it's a switch or a connection and not the solenoid.
