Default Z214

Hello everyone,

Thanks to this forum I've learned a lot about Mariah boats and like what I see. I'm going to look at a very well maintained 1998 Z214 today but based on my research the asking price seems way too high with an owner not willing to budge much. The price is $17500 with tandem Eagle trailer, 522 hours on 5.0L Mercruiser.......any thoughts or comments?

Greetings! My only thought is it is mid May and boating season is just kicking off. At the same time its only worth what someone is willing to pay- obviously. Trailer need new tires? Vinyl need replaced? Out drive need service soon? Motor need a tune up? I can talk myself out of paying top dollar for something not in top shape pretty easy... Let someone else be the person who over pays. (If that is what you are feeling!)

If you would like to get a retail price NADA can give you a decent ball park. That's what the banks use. At least mine did.

    Welcome gWilley.

I'll echo the thought that the asking price sounds like a "spring" price. The 214 is a great boat, but we're talking about a 21' boat that's coming up on being 20 years old. I have a 99 (non-Z) and love it, but if someone showed up with even 13k, I'd send it down the road in a heartbeat.
