Coming out of the shadows..

So I bought a 95 Mariah 240z back in July, and joined the site to learn about the boat and how to work on it, well because it needs some work. The interior has seen better days due to being outside, and the motor had spun a bearing and lost oil pressure. It also appears to have some electrical issues and the radio bezel is trashed.

But I never introduced myself when I joined so here goes. I'm from Indianapolis and I mostly boat on Cataract lake, but also Monroe, Patoka, Raccoon, and Geist. So far the Mariah has only seen a couple test runs on Cataract.

So first thing me and my dad did was to pull the engine and have it rebuilt. Bored and stroked to a 496, all new internals (forged, no more cast components) added aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, MSD marine distributor.

I also plan to upgrade to an EFI system from either Holley or FAST, and would like to put some headers on it when I have more funds..

I am attaching some picks of what I have done so far.

Wow, nice work on the engine. I would like to go all aluminum too on my 5.7 Alpha One Merc. So far, I replaced the exhaust manifolds with aluminum but before I continue I like to take my boat out first for the first time and check it out. I can't believe how lite the engine will be when I trasfer every thing I can with aluminum. :-) Always use marine parts when dealing with starter, carb, alternator, etc for your own safety.
