Carpet install 95 talari 180

Hello everyone I'd like to say I need some help [...my question is I'm trying to remove the carpet on my newly acquired talari 180 ( she was neglected by her original owner ) I took the panels off in front of the drivers side and passenger side and it seems the carpet runs all the way to the bow it is installed (sandwiched ) between the cockpit ...do I have to rip the top half .....off the boat to get the carpet off I am hesitant to touch the dashboard since I see it is nearly impossible to get another one if I damage it...
If searched all throughout the forums and I don't see an answer :shakehead:

To be more specific according to Mariah's original videos it states that the boats are constructed in 2 pieces the top and the bottom ......the top being the mold in the front bowrider that is constructed all in fiberglass and is the actual mold where you sit up against the cockpit.... lets call it
It seems like the carpet goes under that ..am I correct and if so how do I tackle this I really don't feel like taking the rub rails off and separating the hull ...

I really doubt that they installed the carpet before they put the boat together. I suspect it was just tucked down in tight underneath the console supports. Personally i would carefully use a good knife and run a line right alongside the console support. Hopefully one of the guys who have done this work already will chime in.

As mikey stated , use a utility knife with a sharp blade and cut around the console supports.
When you install your new carpet , make sure you cut the carpet a bit long , glue , tuck , trim to side of console. :)
Cut the old carpet in strips if need be for easier removal.
There is no way I'd even think about separating the upper hull/deck from the lower hull.:eek_animated::shakehead:

That is what I did with mine, I just cut it out along the console and cut the new carpet a little long and tucked it under the console. It worked great!
