I just bought a 2001 mariah 238 and it looks like the camper top poles should fit under the hatch but they seem to long am I right or just a idiot? Can do a gimble bearing but he poles have me stumped

On my boat, those two brackets under the hatch are for a boat hook but it seems to me that others have used them for different things. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.
