Windscreen paint

The paint on my windscreen frame has flaked off quite bad in some places & the ali underneath has corroded. Last season I rubbed it back, primed & sprayed with what looked a good match Hammerite. But it wasn't

The original frame is painted (maybe anodised) in a silver finish with, for want of a better description, sparkly bits in it. I guess it must be a reasonably standard finish across Mariah's

Any ideas where I can get hold of a paint to match the original, ideally in the UK? Thanks in advance

Re: Windscreen paint

If it was painted it was probably done by a previous owner. Most likely it was clear anodized from the manufacturer. If the anodized coating gets sanded/rubbed off it will become prone to pitting/corrosion. Anodizing is a special coating applied by a chemical mixture with an electrical charge passed through it. It can be re-anodized but that would probably be expensive and labor intensive. If you want to paint right it you would have to sand off the clear anodized coating, prime with an aluminum primer, then paint with a quality paint, ie, not a spray can but a professional paint coating. Least expensive option, clean it once a year and paint it with cheap paint. Hope this helps
Happy Boating
