Battery disconnect switch?

Can someone tell me where it's located, on a '97 Shabah? Thanks!

Do you have dual batteries on your boat? If not then it's unlikely you have a battery disconnect switch. If you do it should be mounted very close to the dual batteries.

Jan,

Are you still troubleshooting battery issues?

Ugh -yes :(

I mentioned the battery disconnect switch because iit's mentioned in the manual for a '97 Mariah, although I realize that the manual is generic and not model-specific.

We know there is a short somewhere, since the brand new battery is not starting the engine most of the time - luckily i just obtained the more specific wiring diagram for our boat, so we can troubleshoot some of the electrical issues.

Will be taking it over to our mechanic tomorrow. Prob. the alternator, as you suggested...

Am very grateful for all the information supplied by club members, especially manuals and diagrams - this is our 2nd Mariah, don't know what I would have done without the club for many issues we've had to correct...
