Cool Mildew/Mold

Hello:
I just bought my first boat and notice that I have mildew or mold in the carpet in places. I can clean the carpet, but need to kill the problem. Cant seem to find a carpet cleaner to address the problem. Its only one area so I dont want to replace the carpet if I dont need too. Thanks in advance.
Ralph

youve got to get it warm & dry no matter what.

call a janitorial service that does fire restorations. they have to deal with this all the time

"Sporicidin" is the cleaner/disinfectant used to kill and prevent mould spores from reoccurring however i think you need to go thru a professional cleaning company to buy the stuff. Depending on how bad the mould/mildew problem is, you may have to pressure wash or steam clean the carpeting.

There are some mildew removal products available at iboats.com or various other marine suppliers that might do the job on small spots.

    Cool Re: Mildew/Mold

Just wanted to update the mildew clean up status...I have come across few products that do what they say, however the STAR BRITE MILDEW AND STAIN REMOVER is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The mildew was bigger than first thought. This product worked flawlessly!!!! I had to use several applications and I also used a scrub brush, but it left no stains or dis-coloring in the light gray carpet at all.... I highly recommend this product for anyone suffering from mold or mildew....Thanks again for all the help and advise....Ralph
