Hey everyone. I had a question on my speedometer. Just bought my 97' 189SE Shabah. I took it out last week and found out the speedometer and depth finder dont work. Any suggestions? I did look by the Lower Unit and found it and seems wire is crimped behind braket. Any thing would help, thanks

Do a site search for 'speedometer' and you will find numerous posts with the same problems & solutions. Or refer to this post for links.

Yeah, when we first got our boat we could never figure out the speedometer either. Your best bet would be to grab a decent gps device that gives you speed on land and knots.

Our stereo on the Talari was never strong enough to hear music while the boat was running and most of the guages gave up after a couple of years. We still had a blast with it though. So yeah, grab one of those hand held gps devices is my suggestion and get creative with the extra space.
