Replacing Bellows
Have any of my Mariah friends tackled replacing the bellows on their boats. I'm not kidding myself, it's not an easy job. I'm mechanically adept enough to do it, but not sure about all part necessary to do a through job (seals, gaskets, special tools, etc). Appreciate your comments.

Re: Paul Z
Hey Paul! Find out, then let me know!!
My bellows aren't bad, but I need to replace the u-joints soon and figured I'd replace these at the same time. You might want to consider the u-joints and/or gimbal bearing while you're in there with everything removed. I just had the gimbal bearing replaced a few years ago and really wish I would have had them do the u-joints as well. |
Re: Replacing Bellows
Hi Paul,
Take a look at this great site with lots of info and tips (click here) and you'll get an idea on what's involved in changing the Bellows plus any special tools needed to do the job and indykoch is spot on with the Gimbal bearing and U-joints, now's the time to check them and lube or replace if necessary! Good luck, WetWilly |
