Default Fixing sluggish 700-1100 RPM problem

OK just fixed something: My 96 5.7L Merc with the MERCARB 2 bbl was sluggish from idle to about 1100 rpm. Would cut out unless I gunned it to 1200 RPM, not safe when in gear!!!! SO I moved the Accelerator pump rod to the uppermost hole of the lever assy (the one with three holes). Runs like a champ now. Hope this helps someone....
