When everyone used Meguiar's fiberglass restoration kit, did you do it by hand or with an orbital buffer? Going to work on my boat in the next week or so and trying to decide if I do it by hand or with the buffer.

Thanks

I've used both, I've found it to be about equal both ways. Except after doing it all by hand, I need about 4-6 cold alcoholic beverages vs. the 1-2 from using the buffer method.

I started mine using a large random orbit polisher, but it was just as much work as doing it by hand, so I chose the latter. I suspect one of the smaller polishers would be better. I couldn't see any difference between the mechancially polished areas, and those I did by hand.

I started with the large polisher too and it was a PITA. I ended using a 5" polisher that I could palm and that made life much easier.
