Speedometer sensor replacement

I have a 1996 Davanti Z225 and the speedometer went out last year. I also recall the depth guage was random and innacturate.

Looking at the paddle wheel and cable, I see that cable has been munched.
I see replacement kits online, but I am not sure which one I need or if there is only one.

Is the sensor with the paddle wheel responsible for speed, temperature and depth?

Is this as simple to replace as removing the old one, feed the new cable in and connect it?

Thanks so much.

Newbie here. First day.

Re: Speedometer sensor replacement

I'm assuming you have a 'paddlewheel' style sensor? Lots of You Tube videos on replacing the speed/temp sensor.

Re: Speedometer sensor replacement

I could not really find anything on YouTube regarding my specific sensor. I did however find the replacement kit on Amazon. I'm sure I can figure out how to install it by just tracing the wiring and swapping parts.

If it happens to he helpful for someone else, here's the link.
