Wanting to test electrical without engine installed.

Hello all! We purchased a 96 180 shabah and are trying to check the electrical components on the boat while the engine is being rebuilt. We hooked up power to the battery mounts, but the power seems to be needed to run through the motor harness to energize the boat which is not hooked up do to engine is out. Any tips or tricks are appreciated!! Thank you!

I believe all you have to do is: 1) connect together the two black wires that went to the engine ground stud and 2) connect together the large red (from battery) and small red wires that went to the starter. The smaller red wire should have (or had) the circuit breaker attached. If the circuit breaker went with the engine, then use the red-purple wire instead, but not the red-purple wire going to the starter solenoid or alternator. Do not connect the large red wire going to the starter solenoid to anything. Also, make sure that the 4 wires that went to the alternator are not connected to anything.
