Hunter,
Yes you can add antifreeze through the thermostat housing, no need to crank over the engine, the antifreeze will find its way. As you said, if a little water is left in the engine it will be OK.

I just winterized my engine on Monday and I used method 2 mentioned previously. I saw the video you posted and am not concerned as I have been using this method for ~20 yrs. It doesn't matter that the RV antifreeze turns to a solid, as the youtube host mentioned numerous times...it didn't expand! Just one clarification, as I stated, I drain the block and manifolds after adding the antifreeze and I also drain the fuel cooler.

Thanks, im going to double check the "fuel cooler" step, mines an older 95' v-8 i googled it and it looks to be on the port side below the block drain plug, lower down on the engine. There should be a drain plug there.
