Towboat US membership cancelled
 

Recieved a certified letter from Towboat US and they cancelled my membership. Funny thing is it was about to expire at the end of the month and they sent me a check refunding most of my money. I think I paid $180 for the year and they sent me $160. I guess the gold "Unlimited" towing has a limit.... I was towed in 5 times in the last year..(2) 2 hr tows and (3) 1 hr tows. I take my boat out alot maybe put 150hrs on the boat. Had a bad couple months working on some electrical issues. At least the boat is working good now and I guess I'll just go with Seatow.....

Wow... That's lousy... What was their official reasoning for the cancellation?

The reason I was cancelled was Excessive use.... So basically unlimited gold translates to a 5 hour tow..... The problem is that they operate like AAA. I think each Towboat is operated by a tow/salvage company and are paid by corporate for each service call.... After each tow they would send me a receipt of what they paid and for a 2 hour tow they paid out $550.. So I cost them about $2000 for 5 tows. Oh well .... I'm in miami beach and we have SeaTow , FastResponse and a few other companies that offer towing with a yearly rate..So I'm not mad about it.... I actually would recommend Towboat US because the service was great.(besides the cancellation) :punch_out:
