Party cove is pretty sweet for "people watching" if you don't have kids with you! It's Anderson Cove.

[QUOTE=Oregondunes;49280]Yeah, they have an event there. Nothing that big though. Couple really fast boats. Some guy this year set a new world record. No biggie, only 224 mph in a pleasure boat.

Then there is Aqua-poluza too AquaPalooza 2012 Boat Party Lake of the Ozarks short ver. - YouTube[/Q

Not trying to hijack the thread--here's a couple of shots I got of "My Way" (a 50 foot, 3000 HP, twin turbine Mystic) at LOTO Shootout this summer. For size reference the boat in the foreground is a 20' Bayliner! The pontoon that ran 107 is out of Illinois and boats mostly on Lake Shelbyville. (My brother in-law and a few other of my "boating buds" see him there regularly)

Doaclnr, can you post or message me your contact info for a possible rental next summer?

Re: Lake of the Ozarks?

Motoxxx43,

Highly recommend LOTO. It is one of my favorite parts of the country. I've been going there for the past decade or so. As others have said, you can do everything from fish, to lounge, to race, to party, to everything in between. Lake does get pretty busy on the weekends, and because its a fairly narrow (and often rock walled) lake the waves can perpetuate and the lake gets pretty rough. You will get beat up a litte, but its definitely worth it. People there are as friendly as you'll find anywhere in the world.

The shootout is a pretty cool specatcle, but is insanely busy. If you want to try and go that weekend (in late Aug.) you honestly would need to book accomodations now.

One thing to remember about LOTO is that due to its shape and size, you may be at the "Lake of the Ozarks" but hours away (by car or by boat) from certain attractions that are also at the "Lake of the Ozarks." Once you figure out what MM you're staying at, let me know and I can steer you in the right direction. In my personal experience, most of the more popular bars (and party cove) are between MM 18 and 35.

Good luck, man. Enjoy!
