Telemarketeers

I am so sick and tired of all the telemarketeers calling my "unlisted" phone number it's driving me nuts!!:mad:

Re: Telemarketeers

Put yourself on the "Do Not Call" list. We never get any of those calls anymore. www.donotcall.gov I registered my numbers with them when they first came out. One thing to remember, you have to update it every so often. Now all I get are the bill collectors wanting money

Re: Telemarketeers

I already done it twice!
I gotta be the most unlucky SOB when it comes to these things.
I get 3-4 calls or messages every couple days.
Guess I'll try the no call list again. LOL

We got them really bad during election time, even despite being on the do not call list. Thankfully, the majority of them have stopped, but still get the occasional one. They always seem to find a loophole in the do not call list that allows them to still call... Just harass them and ask them to stop calling. Or, if they're calling from the same numbers, you can try and block them with the phone company.

Re: Telemarketeers

we get them over here too, mostly on my work mobile/cell phone.
when they call now i just say "can you hang on one second! then i put the phone down and carry on!
i've turned it into a bit of a game now to see how long it takes them to hang up :)
best i've had was just under 45mins.....

Like Chris said , since the politcal stuff is over they have stopped considerably. I seriously thought about using my old canned air horn on em , but don't want to make em deaf.......just stop calling :)
It is much better now though.

Doesn't sound like your DNC list works any better than the one up here north of the border....:(

Re: Telemarketeers

As much fun as it is to mess with the telemarketers I have found a way that ensures they do not call again. I mean, I could go on an on about how I have done my best to waste their time as they have tried to waste mine. Calling their numbers back does not work because they call you from numbers that are disconnected, blah blah blah.

When a random number calls me I answer with a polite "hello". After I have determined the nature of the call I will inform them "This is a police and fire dispatch phone line. Please see to it that your company does not call it again or I will report your company to FCC. Have a nice day."

I have been doing this for a few months now and have not had any call backs.
