Back on the water!

Hi guys .. remember me!? :rolling_laugh:

My Diablo finally saw water for the first time this past weekend since the summer of 2008! (sorry no new photos)

Needed to have a few things replaced before it was fit for water trials. Needed a new shifter cable, impeller, battery and the fuel gauge was acting wonky also. Other than that, everything else checked out fine.

Not overly impressed with the 1 month wait before he even looked at it, then another month later before we finalized everything. However, we weren't really able to get up to the cottage to even use the boat. Sooo, it didn't really matter in the end anyways. Besides of course, the very late start to the boating season for us.

I also have a project before it gets winterized in 2 months. The $300 trailer I bought for it last fall, only had half the lights wired up initially. Not sure why the previous owner had to snip and disconnect the left hand side and both marker lights. I also noticed that someone had connected marettes to a 2-3" long wire to a butt connector (exterior of the lamp housing) to connect to the forward harness, which was snipped off near the front of the left tire anyways.

So I have some wiring to clean up and redo. No biggie.

Other that that.. happy to be on the water again! I have missed this page, but not being on my boat is part of my reason for not being an active member on here. Now that the boat is back on water, it's back to the webpage..

Next up, clean the years of grime off the hull, off the interior and enjoy it this summer and hopefully a full summer next year !

Re: Back on the water!

Thanks Larry !

Agreed. We are always on the look out for Mariah's on our waterways. Saw four of them this past weekend. One in passing, two at dock and one similar to the Shabah 250 being loaded onto a trailer.

My wife was happy to be out again. However I think her "sea legs" have become rather rusty and forgot how to tie off the boat to a ring on the pier.

One of her friends did just get her boaters license a few weeks ago, so I let her take it up the river (10k/hr limit). First time driving a boat and I got to sit back and look at bikini's... errr I mean watch her navigating my boat in a safe manner.

Hi Ryan. Glad to see you back on board! Not sure if you have a Princess Auto in your area but they've got a sale on submersible LED marine trailer light packages for 50% off this week.

Welcome back Ryan! Glad to see one of the original members around again! The site's grown quite a bit since the last time you were around, so there's all sorts of new info you can find. And you know if you've got questions, we're all here to help. Good luck with the projects, and keep us updated! :wink_thumbup:

Hey Mikey! Thanks for the heads up.

If I need to replace both trailer lights, i'll see what Bass Pro on Hwy 400 has in stock first. I have about $50 in gift cards I need to get rid of soon. Might stop in this long weekend on the way north maybe.

Thanks Chris! Yeah I see that it has grown quite a bit over the past few years. Which is a good thing. I'll have to start walking myself around the forums and see what I can find.

You know me .. I like to document things. :rolling_laugh:
