Its on par !
How about (aboot?) that eh !
The Canadian dollar and the US dollar are now on par! I had heard it was on par last night, but seeing it on the "ticker board" on CityNews this morning was neat. Never before have I seen 1.0004 for the loonie. The loonie has finally passed gas prices... ROFL! |
Damn, I'll never be able to afford canadian beer now! Not that I would drink it....I prefer the good ol watery Miller High life!!
|
Your showing your age. I remember when it was previously above par (in the mid 70's)...
I guess I'm showing mine... :D |

What it means now .... we should be able to heckle american online orders for getting the stuff at par pricing, or they are over charging us. I think i read it would take about 2years before pricing would even out for stuff we purchase. |
I didn't follow it back in the 70's, but I do remember when it was close to 1.5CDN to 1.0US. I made lots of trips to Ontario/Niagra to visit the Casino. It seemed like winning just exchanging money.

I remember about 4 years ago, an American tourist filled up his SUV at the gas station. He handed the clerk a US$50 bill, and she gave him $50+ Cdn in change... :eek_animated:
Buying from the US has become more appealing. Now all we need to do is get the courier companies from charging those bogus "brokerage" fees when stuff gets shipped to us. |
Maybe if we all pool our loonies & twoonies together we may have enough money to buy the USA
|
I dunno Mikey, you prepared to take on our > 9 trillion dollar debt? haha.
|
on second thought.....maybe not.
If Shrub keeps on spending money the way he does, you guys wont be able to afford to get yourselves out of debt. ;) |
