Congrats Ryan! Things always seem to have a way of working out over time.....and the added bonus that you no longer work for the person who let you go. :p

Re: Back again ...

Wow. I think I have a habit of leaving and coming back again.. :p

So, after my last posts back in June I did get my old job back in case some dont remember. But I was also doing the work of 2-3 people, as one. I was the only guy running the parts department for about a good month and a half until extra help (my replacement) showed up.

So working 56+ hours / 6 days a week with barely any lunch, it didn't leave me much time to get up north to spend time on the water.

Needless to say, after losing my job in Feb I didn't have the money to afford to bring it out of storage this year. Then once I got my job back, I had the money to bring it out of storage, but didn't have any TIME to use it. So it was a hard decision, but the Mariah ended up staying dry docked all summer long. Which is part of the reason for me leaving the site for a while. It would only make me miss the boat and want to take it out. Also had nothing new to contribute since I wasn't actively boating.

Eventually in mid/late August I left that job and started up in my 1st semester of college. Now with only 2 weeks left to go in the semester, I'am happy to report that I'am passing all my courses! With about a C+ average approx. I know my electricity class could use a slight mark improvement, but I'm studying as much as I can.

Providing I pass with enough marks this semester and make it through second semester, my plan is to find full time placement in HVAC and get the boat out onto the water again next year. I hope I don't end up working weekends, because that is one thing I hated about being in retail. Now, being "on call" yeah that would change things also...hah.

Downside is, it is going to be $760 before it is even gets un-winterized.
(storage = 365 days @ $2 a day + tax = ouch)

Yep, time to find a newer boat with a trailer.

:D

somehow i just cant get a visual on Ryan being a 'bookworm'.... :shakehead:

I did the same thing though back in 1990. Quit my pain in the ass job & went back to school for 2 yrs. It was tough on the bank account but worth it in the end.
