Re: Hard to start when cold

Question for you guys on something i have noticed on my boat. I do the throttle techniques as you guys have mentioned but when the engine actually starts its a little odd.

After the two or three pumps then turning the key, the engine seems to start after i let go of the key. It like cranks and cranks and wont start till i release the key...after its warm, lets say i shut it off for anywhere 10-30 min, she will start with two attempts to start...id have to crank it, she wont start, crank it again and she will start after i release key...

Does this seem like something i'm doing wrong or normal for a carb setup...other that the mower at home, only other carb setup i have...LOL
