Electrical issues

Just put my Z255 in the water yesterday. Running through everything, it appears that my Capt's Exhaust doesn't engage to silent mode, my trim up/down gauge isn't working, the depth finder (just replaced by the maintenance shop with NEW finder) is inconsistent in the readings, and the stereo is no longer working. I've thought about taking it back to the maintenance people, but all this happend since they replaced my depth finder...I'm wondering if they may have screwed something else in the in the process of replacing my depth finder. Oh, by the way, somehow my boat hours counter has 124 more hours since the maintenance people replaced my depth finder.

Given the extensive wiring behind the dash (from the various posts I've read here), and that most boat repair shops don't know how to service pre-2001 Mariah's, I'm concerned about taking it back to them to repair. Anyone with suggestions? Better yet, any solutions I can do at home? Better still, anyone know of Mariah-experienced maintenance experts near Lake Norman (Cornelius), NC?

Re: Electrical issues

124 hours? I believe your hour meter runs whenever the ignition switch is on, running or not. I would first turn the battery switch on (ignition off) and see if the meter starts counting up. Sounds to me that the same monkeys who wired my boat had a turn at yours. I think the wiring diagrams are all available on here. Print yours out and start tracing things back. Good luck!
