Ouch! I thinks it was a case of not tinking... must have been related to the fella who used his cigarette lighter to check if the fuel tank was full or as Forest Gump said, "Stupid is as Stupid does...

They prolly thought it was a jam-up, good idea until the gas fumes surrounded the contact brushes in the electric motor.

Remember the old Electrolux vacuums that looked like a little jet engine with a handle? I remember when I was a kid, Dad got a bunch of junk in the gas tank of his Camaro so he dropped it to clean it out. He drained all the gas, opened up the sending unit top to get into the tank, stuck some old rags in it to soak up the last little bit of gas,..... then stuck that old Electrolux down in it to get the dirt out.

It really looked like a little jet engine then, but with the afterburner on! The fumes left in the tank were ignited by the electric motor and made a good foot of flame come out the exhaust end. Me and Dad thought it looked pretty cool but Mom was mad that Dad ruined her vacuum.

Sense it was hooked to someone's pu, wonder what, or who's, insurance pays the burned guys bills? Sounds like the owner of the boat was unharmed.

If they where at a public boat ramp there's no home owners coverage, does auto policy coverage go into effect or the boat policy?
