Default Holes in cupholoder

Does anyone know if there is a way to drain the water under the cup holders. One of the last owners drilled holes in the cupholders and now there is water filled up to the top. I got some out by using my brake vacuum kit but it is a slow process. Just wondered if there is a drain point clogged up.

    Hi red66barron,

If you have one or have access to one, I suggest trying a wet/dry vac (larger capacity and greater vacuum than the good old brake vac kit) to suck the remaining water out. I use one to clean out the Talari and to suck up any left over water in the cup holders or any below deck storage compartments.

I am curious which cup holders are you referring to, the ones on the dash, rear seating area or cabin/bow? Since Mariahs didn't come with self draining cup holders, provisions for water drainage under them wasn't really a consideration, but on our Talari, none of the areas under the various cup holders are water tight so there is drainage acccess to either the floor or the central drain below the deck.

Once you get to the bottom or you water retention, do a little search on our forum and you'll find other members who have come up with solutions for the water in the cup holder syndrome.

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

It was the cup holders are in the rear seating area.
I pulled the cup holder out. It seemed to be glued down to the vinyl. Under the cup holder was boxed in and water tight so there is no way for me to add drainage. I'll probably just buy some replacement cupholder without holes.

    Thanks
