Default Carb change 4.3L

Has anybody changed the 2bbl carb for a 4bbl?
If so what was involved? Do you need to change the plenum as well?
Do you get the extra Gee Gee’s?
At the moment my boat is rated at 190hp will I see the 225hp or is there more to it than that?
This is just one of the things I’m considering for next winter…

For the 225 hp , your looking at a MPI conversion. Unless you want to go with a different cam. I think VP 4.3 4bbls are rated at around 210 hp.
If you want to run the 4bbl , you need new intake and 4bbl carb.
If you went with the Edelbrock 4bbl intake #2114 , you might get 220hp.

Here is some info for ya on the VP 4.3

So i'm looking at carb, cam and plenum/intake manifold.
    Any thing else?
And how much would this run to if you were doing it state side?

I'd say $1000.00 or so for the parts.
Labor , if you don't do it yourself..... another $1000.00
It would stick you in the 220-230 hp range realistically.

    Just supercharge that bad boy!!

$2K for 30hp.....nah not on my watch!
i'd rather buy a bigger boat.
As much as I love my 180 I really am starting to see it's limits....

I was seriously looking at a 5.0L, not for the power as it's only 250hp but for the sound track
But that motor is going to me waaay to heavy!

looks like I might be in the market for a 222 (wishful thinking over here...lol)

I've never worried about the cost of fuel Larry, even with our prices!
it's not my everyday transport it's what I do for fun.
And when I do a day out on the water for less than it costs to take the family to a theme park. i'm happy.
TBH i'd still be happy at twice the price.

    I suppose i'm just a born fiddler....
you should see what I do to my bikes....lol
