Default Leaf spring question

Here's some pics of the springs on my trail rite trailer that came with my 2001 Shabah 182. Best I can read on the tag it says axil gross weight 3700 max trailer weight 3076. According to the 01 brochure boat weight 2720 I assume that's dry with a full 38 gal of fuel it's 2948. So I'm still under the trailer max. I'm no expert but the springs don't look right, they don't seem broken anywhere. Any comments or suggestions

Springs on that trailer look like they've been overloaded by the Mariah.

I'm in the process of buying part's to replace all the bearings and change over to disc brakes. I looked into getting a new one but will cost over 4 grand and don't think it would be any better built. Do you think i could replace the springs with something with a higher weight rating and keep this trailer?

Replacing the springs with something stronger will likely result in additional weight which may push you even closer (or over) your trailer's limit. I would sell that trailer and buy one that fits.

Since my boat is an 01 I'm guessing the dealership just put it on whatever would work before they closed. It fits the boat perfect dimension wise. I'll start looking for a replacement, do you think I need a duel axil or should I stick with a single? Except with better suspension.

I have done some research and found this is an
"Open Eye or C Hook" slipper spring. I took the photos to a trailer repair place and there saying the spring is around 20 year's old and is just fatigued which is not unusual for it's age. So looks like I will be changing these along with my bunks and disc brake upgrade this winter. Thankfully there relatively cheap.
