Show me your tunes!

Just wanted to get some posts to see what everyone has for stereo equip. Mine has a Panasonic head unit, 6"speakers in the kick panels(I'm a car guy so I don't know the boat term), and a 6" on each side of the rear seat. I'm planning on adding some thump to mine, but would like a sampling of what others have done....speaker sizes, placement, etc.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Show me your tunes!

I was waiting til I got it all installed, which was last weekend and I actually played it on the water (tomorrow night), but here are my system now:

Fusion MS IP700 head unit Marine Stereo for iPod (MS-IP700) | FUSION Electronics

Netgear WGT624 4-Port Wireless G Router Amazon.com: NETGEAR WGT624 108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Router - Wireless router - 4-port switch - 802.11 Super G, 802.11b/g - desktop: Computers & Accessories. This allows me to control the deck (wireless) and all it's functions from any of my families 5 Apple products with WiFi.

Krypt Marine Audio KMA 500.1 (mono block 500w g/h rated) and (2) Krypt Marine Audio MKA 125.4 (4 channel) Marine Amp | Marine Amplifiers | Class G/H, H, Boat, Audio, Stereo, Amps, For Sale, Cheap, Discount. These amps, copied and made marine applicable from the Vibe Audio Litebox 1 (VIBE Audio LiteBox Bass 1 (LiteBox1) Monoblock Car Amplifier) are some of the most efficient and powerful amps made. Pound for pound the best bang for the buck if you can find them for sale.

(2) DB Link LCAP8KF 8 Farad Capacitors db Link LCAP8KF 8.0 Farad Capacitor w/ Digital Voltage Display. If your gonna pound the lows, your batteries will take a beating.

This gear runs my (10) Polk Audio dB series drivers (Marine Speakers and Systems | Polk AudioŽ ) throughout the main areas of the boat and (2) 12" Kicker CompVR dual voice coil subs Kicker 12in Dual Voice Coil Woofer w/Spring Loaded Push Terminals in Car Speakers and Subwoofers | JR.com under the rear seat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Mid Cabin I just replaced the head unit:

POWER ACOUSTIK PD702 (Am-Fm-CD-DVD) Power Acoustik PD-702 In-Dash 7" LCD DVD Car Receiver w/ USB/AUX The internal amp is more then sufficient to drive the 4 speakers in such a small space.

(4) Polk Audio dB series Drivers Marine Speakers and Systems | Polk AudioŽ

Oh I like that! Way more info than I was expecting too. I need a new head unit and amps, but I have a pair of 12's and 10's I was thinking about making use of. Did you box in the subs under the seat? Looks great and I bet it sounds even better. :D

Re: Show me your tunes!

I didnt box them in. But they still hit very hard. So hard that a couple of my buds have offered their female friends to come "listen" to the sound system. Needless to say, the rear seat vibrates quite well.

My winter plans include rebuilding the rear seat like Boatcrazy did, making it straight across (instead of horse shoe shaped) and building a box incorporated into the center seat, still leaving room to store a pair of fenders behind the sub box and incorporating a cooler into one of the corner seat boxes.
