Default Spring Cleaning

I am going to pull my Shabah 202 out of storage tomorrow and do a nice spring cleaning on it. Just need any helpful advise with the removal of oxidation and then waxing. Thanks all and happy boating season!!!

I like Mequiars Resto Kit , but there are a hundred others out there.
A lot of guys are using the 3M products with great success.
Just say away from the wipe on wipe off crap! You'll regret it later.

How bad is the oxidation. If the gel coat is flat instead of gloss, wet sand with 3000 grit, you can buy a sheet of it or two at autozone. Then use a buffer with the mequires ultimate compound and finish with ultimate polish then wax or just their carnuba polishing wax. That's what I did and it took my boat from flat to full gloss! It was work, but we'll worth it!!

If it's still glossy but not as shiny as you'd like. I would skip the 3000 grit. However the benefi and of using a high speed buffer with good pads cannot be understated... It translates to less work and a higher gloss, more even shine!

Thanks guys!! I am a little scared of the sanding part but i am definitely going to use the compound and then wax with high speed buffer!

Don't let the sanding scare you if it needs done. Hi speed buffing with the Meguiars Ultimate Compound will take out any scratches from wet sanding with 3000 grit sandpaper. If it is shocking sanding with 3000 is the way to go to avoid buffing over and over and over. Just my 2 cents, be sure to post some before and after pictures so we all can see the fruits of your labor!
