Default Anyone added a Time delay relay to their Alarm buzzer

I'm wondering if anybody has added a 15 second time delay relay to their alarm buzzer so it doesn't beeeeeeeeeeeppppppp***** when you are starting up? I'm thinking of adding one.

No. the alarm is there to instantly alert you of trouble. the reason it starts off right away is because there is no oil pressure in the engine until you get it running. My suggestion is to leave your alarm alone and just get used to it.

Yes, but some versions of those alarm modules don't come on for 10-15 seconds after the ignition switch is turned on. I always assumed that was a turn-on delay, not an alarm delay. IOW: After the initial 10-15 seconds, if any of the sensors are activated, the alarm will sound right off.

Maybe I'll test that some day. It would be easy enough to do with the water temp., for example. Just pull it off the sensor, which is right in front, atop the engine, and ground it.

If my alarm sounded right off, every time I went to start the boat, I know I'd find it annoying.
