Default 1995 27.5' Mariah Shabah

Hello, I am a first timer and have a quick question. I have the chance to buy a 1995 27.5' Shabah which is a cabin boat and has the 454 Merc. The owner seems unsure of the model. Is there a Z275? The boat appears in immaculate condition with 125 hrs and has never had bottom paint as it has always been trailered. The only things needed are steering cable adjustment and he says the hydraulic trim is "hit and miss". Is this easy to remedy? The boat has a Zieman trailer. I was wondering if someone could tell me the estimated value of this boat, both with and without the trailer. Thanks!

Yep, there was a 27.5' cuddy cabin boat made by Mariah in 1995, it was the called the "Davanti" model, not the "Shabah". There were two 27 foot models that year, the Z272 Barchetta (bowrider) and the Z275 Davanti (cuddy cabin). In 1996, they were both renamed to the "Shabah".

The steering cable, and the hydraulic trim tabs can be replaced. We've got members here who have replaced them, and we have many links to OEM manufacturers and parts.

A great place to check the value of the boat is NADAguides.com Official Site.

Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. We're all here to help!

Chris, Thanks for the reply. It's been a great help. I'm going to follow the link you provided and see what the boat is worth. I have a feeling I may soon own a Mariah. Thanks again, Doug

If it just needs a new trim motor (probably does, if it's hit or miss), that's not too big a deal. Anywhere from $2-400 for the motor and it should be a breeze to install as long as it's easily accessible, which it probably is because its reservoir should be checked on a regular basis. $200ish if you can find the pump alone, $400ish if you have to buy the entire assembly.
That would actually be worse case scenario too. If you're lucky one or both of the solenoids are just out and they're only like $35 each. The test to figure out what is wrong is pretty easy. If you get to a point you're ready to do that just let us know and we'll help out or google around and you'll find plenty info.
I think you're looking at a $10-12K boat, and that's being modest given the hours that are on it. My opinion and not that of the MOC, blah, blah, blah...
