Default '95 Z202 Shabah - LED Multi-Function Display

First, I love my Shabah and this website. It's great!!

I'm looking for someone that has a Mariah with an LED Display located in the center of the instrument panel. It says, well it used to say, 'Mariah Boats' when you start the boat and then displays time, distance, and a few other things. I have a few questions I'd like to ask.

Kind regards,

Randy

Randy, I've got the owners manual to this thing. I"ll try and get it sent to Chris and have him scan it for the site. It just dawned on me I had this when you asked!

Another great use of the site!

    Thanks Doug! I appreciate it.

Do you have one of these in your Z240?

    That's fantastic. THANKS!!!!

I see that you're located in IL, so your season is about the same as ours in Ohio. I always get sad around this time of year. The latest we're usually able to boat is around mid October... and that's not far away.

I really appreciate you offering your instrument for a few days. It pulls right out of the instrument panel and has 2 connectors... so remaoval and installation couldn't be easier. I can copy the chip in literally a few minutes. I'll obviously pay for shipping and would like to give you more for your trouble and generosity. How about $50 or something like that?

I'll also give you a copy of the chip in case you ever have a problem. All the other components are off the shelf so all of us Mariah owners that have this display can maintain it. It's quite a unique option for a boat, not to mention that it adds value/pizzaz!

Looking forwad to seeing the LED display manual too, for I don't have one of those. I'm going to upload a copy of my user manual for I don't see a 1995 version, although it's probably almost identical to the 1994 and 1996 versions.

    Hi Doug,

The offset adjustment for your air/water temp display is a potentiometer located on the circuit card assy (CCA) behind the console. It's on the same CCA as the 2 numeric LEDs. You'll have to pull your console out enough to lay it down to gain access to it while leaving the wiring connected. You may have to remove the radio/tape/CD player and maybe the tape/cd holders, not sure. It's been about 4 years since I calibrated mine, but if I remember right, the adjustment is on the front of the CCA (same side as the numeric LEDs.) If so, you'll need to remove the screws that hold the CCA to the rear side of the console. Once you get to it, you simply adjust the temp reading with a small flat head screwdriver. Once set, just reassemble.

Perhaps you've seen it too, but my temp indication drifts as the circuit warms up. If I recall correctly, it drifted about 3-5 degrees, upwards I think. Because of this, I calibrated the temperature reading immediately (within a minute or so) after flipping the air/water temp switch... before it had a chance to warm up. This is the way I use the gage too, I just flip it on long enough to get a reading then turn it off.

Also, my plastic console was not strong enough to hold the radio/tape player. The radio was only secured to the plastic and was left cantilevered in the rear. This caused the console to crack. I made an aluminum plate that exactly matches the plastic, painted it black and mounted it behind it. Now things are very secure and it looks good! Do you have the same problem? If so, I think I have an extra plate left, or at a minimum the drawings for it.

I also replaced the original radio/cassette player w/ a combo CD player. I found CD holders that were identical to the cassette holders and replaced them too. Both the cassette and cd holders were actually designed for and used in a sports car, Miata I think.

If you'd like to discuss this or anything else, give me a call. My cell phone number is 937-408-6727.

    Kind regards,

    Default Console Brace

    Doug,

I found the extra console brace that I had fab'd. I thought I'd send this to you in exchange for copying your memory, well not your memory, I mean your Mark IV LED Display's memory...

Did you get your temp gizmo calibrated?

Hope your Labor Day Weekend is going well. Our's has been perfect!

Oh, did you send the user manual to Chris for scan/upload?

    Hi Jeff!

Thx for reading my thread. Do you use yours at all?

BTW: I checked your gallery. NICE BOAT, but is there a reason the 'lake patrol' followed you all the way to the ramp

Hi Randy. I don't really use mine, as the control panel is kind of obscured by my GPS, I did play with it, it gives you time date trip top speed,, barometric psi. etc.
As for the patrol boat.. it just happened to be at the dock that day. it was kinda funny though when I went to pull out of the dock, my drive was not all the way down, and when I gave it a little throttle, I shot a roost of water across their transom, they were not thrilled!!
