Default New sundeck vinyl!

We're thrilled with the new sundeck vinyl on our 1999 z202 Shabah. Total was $750 including the rear seat and bottom of the captain's chair. It is the 'house' vinyl, seems pretty durable, and while not a perfect match it is darned close. Fortunately the headrests are still in pretty good shape.

Those look like the colors on my sundeck which I need to redo. My research suggests Nautolex Grand Cayman Mushroom and Smoke White. I've asked a couple local people who will recover it and one says the Nautolex is poor quality compared to the Softside he suggests to use. I don't see one of their colors that looks close as I would like.

Any opinions on brand and durability. the rest of my original interior is in good shape and only the sundeck has cracked which started because I climbed up on it in very cold weather.

    Dang, that looks awesome!

My 98 Shabah 202 had all the vinyl redone right before I took ownership. Unfortunately they didn't keep the original headrests like you. I'm jealous.

I had my sundeck only recovered and I'm happy with it. I think I did the right thing getting the Nautelex vinyl as the match is excellent. The shop recommended I NOT have the short French stitch added back near the hinge and they made the white area one flat solid piece. I see the wisdom in that and honestly it matches the rear seat (not recovered) this way nicely. Less likely for water to get into the seams also I think.

Sorry about the lousy picture in the shade but I can verify Nautolex Grand Cayman is very close to the OEM vinyl even after 20+ years. It's a little cleaner and brighter than my seat but that's to be expected. I think the guy at the shop really didn't want to say it, but after it was done I think even he was a believer in Nautolex GC.

He was also surprised at the condition and sturdy build of the wood underneath as he warned me it often needs some work. He said while it was apart he put a few new screws where front attaches to the flat part but that it was still very solid.
