Default 2001 192 Shabah Steering cable
I have a 2001 192 Shabah that is very hard to steer. Does anyone have experience replacing the steering cable?

    really hard to turn the wheel at low speed and doesnt get much better going faster.

    How do you know it is the steering cable? Are you sure the power steering, particularly the control valve is operating correctly?

    I am not sure of what the problem is really. I drove the boat alot last summer in hopes that it would loosen up with use, but it did not and i dont want to struggle with it this summer. I am just beginning to explore my best options of repair...

    You can isolate the cable from the steering tiller with a single bolt and try running the cable back and forth. If it still feels stiff then the problem is the cable. If it feels free the the problem is in the power steering system which can be a stuck control valve or the pump itself. I assume you have checked power steering fluid level.
