Unhappy Snap down Shabah 198SE boat cover

I recently bought a 1997 Mariah. Was so taken with how pretty it is that I did not do my due diligence. Discovered that the snap down covers for the bow and cabin are severely dried out and cracked. The boat was loaded with tow toys that also covered up cracking in upholstery. I would like to buy new covers for the boat. (Not just a full tow cover). Any place where I can get them since Mariah’s are no longer made?

I know I made a bad deal (but “he” waslusting over it). Now; just trying to make the best of a bad situation. Lesson learned. Never buy things when manufacturer is no longer in business.

Has anyone experienced getting seats recovered? Where to go …… approx cost to do so?

Any ideas appreciated.

Pretty common question and lots of (if not most) owners of original Mariahs have already done this. Your only option for covers is finding a local marine upholstery shop that will custom make/fit covers for you. Just ensure that you use 'Sunbrella' if you want them to last. Same thing with the seats unless you know how to sew and have a commercial sewing machine. Covers will be about $1500 - $2000 and seats (all of them) will be around $3000 - $5000.

All is not lost though with your Mariah and once those jobs are done, it will look like new. I know its a bit late now but you can still read this: Buying a Used Mariah?

+1 on the local marine upholstery.

I looked all over for a snap down cover for my 202. I was lucky enough to have a place nearby that does custom snap covers for boats. Knocked it out in a few days and I'm super happy with it.
