Default Drain plug on 2001 Shabah 182

The drain plug is kind of loose when I insert or remove the plug and one screw won't tighten. I was going to remove and clean then rotate what should I use for a sealant behind when I reinstall and what if anything in the new screw holes.

IF it is rotted around the bung hole, you may have install a backer plate along with using the 3M 5200 sealant. Just dont block the drain.

If lower transom that soft....boat may be junk or need new transom. May not be safe to run any more.. it will sink real fast when drive rips off and tears hole in boat. My freinds dad had marina seen a few that tore off, outboard and IO. Boat looked great, but rear end rotted off.

Is there something behind that the plate is attached to or is it just a flat plate
