Default Rear trailer light clearance marker works but is very dim

It is in this location on my trailer. I just bought it brand new replacing the old one that was completely broken. I checked were the ground wire was mounted and I saw no issues there. (in perfect condition.) it works but it is very dim. I stupidity threw away the box to it so I would have a hard time returning it. Any suggestions if it is a wiring issue? Thanks.

You have some resistance in the circuit somewhere. Did you check the voltage and resistance coming into the lights? I installed a new tail lights and had similar issues. I ended up running a new line. My guess is that the original one was shorting out along the way. I just abandoned it in the trailer so it is only a guess.

I'm with Firestone on this one. I'd run a new power & ground wire. To confirm the new light is functioning run an external 12V lead to the light. Also make sure the ground is good, remove the ground screw and clean the mounting area. A little unseen corosion will give you a problem. The original power lead could have been damaged when the original light was damaged. If like on my 95 Loadrite that center clearance light group is tapped into the left tail lamp for power. When you run the new wire twist & tape the new wire to the old at the center light and use the old wire to pull the new wire through the crossmember.
