Need help with a trim/tilt problem 78 check mate Johnson motor
 

i just bought a little 15 foot check mate with a 85 horse javelin motor.. the trim seemed to have a bit of a problem as it blows the 25 amp fuse in the relay box. i just bought a few fuses to keep on hand and took it out over 5 times with no problems. now this past weekend the trim completely stopped working. i figured it was the fuse again and it wasn't.. the fuse was fine. when i hit both up and down on the tilt control absolutely nothing happens. there is no clicking coming from the solenoid. i cleaned and scrubbed every single connection in the relay box and still nothing. please help!!

do i just have to replace the solenoid?
could this be a short?

You do realize you are on a MARIAH boats site , right?:wink_thumbup:

That being said ,
I would clean all contacts positive and negative on the trim system.
Then I would start by seeing if there is power going to the solenoid and then coming out of the solenoid
If so check power at the trim pump motor itself. If you have power all the way to the trim pump motor and it still doesn't work , I'd say the trim motor itself is bad.
