Finally Having Fun! Tubing Question

OK - so we are finally having fun on our Mariah 238. Years ago we had an O'Brien tube. But when we dug it out I can see we will have to replace it. It is all dry rotted. :(
So I'd like to invest in a 2 person tube. What are your opinions on the most durable?

Personally I usually just grab whatever costco has on sale I found so far name brands all last about the same and some no names seem to last just aswell, and then again other no names last a weekend.

Do you want something crazy or do you want something more stable for the little kids? The airhead vyper is popular for a sit down style. The sportstuff Chariot warbird is cool for a more stable ride. My oldest really likes a flat tube for being tossed across the water.

I got my tube from West Marine right after memorial day. I got the smaller flat 60" tube without the flaps on the side so it would be more challenging to stay on. I am 275 pounds an I was very surprised to find that my 3.0L performed very well.

We use to use the obrien Screamer flat tube with our previous boat. Loved them! Let them go with the boat like a dummy. Now that we have a nice Mariah, we picked up two of the Airhead Slice flat tubes . They are much easier to mount, but have a high tendency to submarine if the rider is not leaning back or on the tail edge on take off. More difficult to bring up on edge when swing out from the boat. They seem to be durable and they are a lot of fun.

you are right. They do submarine at slower speed. Especially if nobody just feel off and you are turning around to pick them up it usually goes totally under water. I love that it is hard to swing out on there edge because for the rider that is the scariest part, but for the driver its a challenge.
