Ski Tube wanted

I am looking at getting a 2 person Ski tube (biscuit), but just dont know which one is the best.
They seem a bit expensive considering how man times we use it.
Can anyone chime in and give me an idea on a good one for my missus and sometimes a couple of little kids?
Or if anyone has one thats 2nd hand, in good condition that they dont use, I would be interested in buying it off you.

Cheers
Tony

Re: Ski Tube wanted

Please don't buy one for your granddaughter. Do a follow up search on kite tube crashes or disasters and all of a sudden they don't look like quite so much fun.

Here's an example
Another
Or this one
Then read this.
Kite Tube Lawsuits - Manta Ray ST3950 Kite Tube

Now if you still want one, I think you can find them on ebay and such.

Dudders, for recommendations; We don't have any of the two person tubes so I don't have any suggestions for that. We have two different single person tubes though and at times pull both at the same time. One has an open middle and the other is flat on both sides.

The one with the open middle is more stable for the kids because they can sit down in it on their knees, also adults generally like to sit on their butt's in this one. It gives the rider less control, but also seems more stable for the rider.

The one that is flat on both sides the rider lays on their stomach. The rider can drag a foot to help control how far they whip or to help keep from being flung across the wake. The part I like most about this tube is that if you're about to get thrown off, you can lean into it and do a barrel roll and come right back on top of the tube.

OK, not such a good idea. Those kite tubes look like fun until you see how unstable they are. I think she'll have to be satisfied with the tube we have and her skis. We have a two person tube now and it's pretty safe even for the little ones. Sorry I can't remember the brand (senior moment). Thanks for the warning on the kite tube.

2 Attachment(s)
We have three different tubes.
1.. The AIRHEAD 3 person is by far the best and most durable. This particular tube you lay on, its fits three and with handles for three. The more people you pile on the harder it is to hang on with all the elbows and jockeying for position, plus the chances of hitting each other when flying off into the water.
2. AIRHEAD round Single seat tube with bottom and headrest that we mostly use with the jetskiis. OK
3. SPORTSSTUFF oval shaped single seat with headrest. My one daughter likes this one but we are on our second innertube. The AIRHEAD tubes are all covered by the canvass. The sportsstuff is only covered on the outside and it seems to always rupture where their feet are. She likes the sitting style but the others dont, cause when you hit a wave and get thrown it kinda slams you on the side of your face.

The big thing with the tubes is to make sure they are filled to capacity. We have two different pumps. A battery (dc) operated and a (ac 120v) pump both made by airhead. If you ever request a warranty claim for your innertube just tell them you have this style of pump, cause they will ask you what type of pump you are using. When compressing them down while filling they should only deflect 1".
See the pics attached.

I have a two person tube made by sport stuff and it is absolutely the best for kids or a grown person. The two person tube is called the chariot warbird you can pull it backwards where you sit on your knees or pull it forward where you sit like in a lounge chair position it is the best tube for kids or adults my neice and nephew absolutely love this tube. Just a sugestion

Re: Ski Tube wanted

Thanks for all your replies guys. Its summer here and have been out on the boat heaps. Went to a holiday resort area and kept the boat in the water (salt) for 7 days, went out every single day. Used our 2 single person tubes and the 3 person hot dog.
I have to get rid of one tube cause it only has handles on the front and none on the side (its a pain sitting your bum in it and holding on).
I really like the looks of those 2 person tubes that you sit in, so will probably get one of those, I think Sportstuff make would be the best. So thanks very much for all your input.
One thing I have noticed is, I get a sort of rooster tail happening that is annoying to the riders as it gets them in the face. I have the trim right down and still happens. The ropes are 50ft so I suppose getting longer ropes would be the only cure to the solution. Any ideas guys?

when tubing to avoid the water in the eyes we all wear a set of tinted ski goggles. Its nice to be able to see what waves are approaching so as to predict ones launch to the air route... He He He
I think you can see them in the one pic we posted

Yeah I saw your pics which lead me to the question.
I am looking at getting longer ropes 60 ft should do. Would this be too long for tubing though?
