members meeting up
Hi there, was just wanting to know how many members of this site actually meet up nad get out boating together. I thinks its great we all talk on forums but would really like to catch up with some in real life. I know its hard when most of us Aussies are spread out and there is not much water for the boats in Central Australia!! Is there any thoughts from the admins as to getting all together at some stage and sharing stories. Just a question i had, cheers

It would definitely be nice to get together someplace, however our member base stretches literally the entire globe (which is awesome!). Perhaps we could organize get-togethers for each country. Anyone who would like to volunteer to coordinate their event, feel free to post the info in this section of the forum! :wink_thumbup:

Re: members meeting up
Hey Jim, let me know when you're headed to the islands, I take my boat up there a few times a year, my best friend has a sailboat in Sandusky Bay, and I have another friend with a Rinker 342 outside of Port Clinton. So I'm up there quite a bit.
Would definitely like to meet up and check out your boat, and that procharger setup! |
Re: members meeting up
Let me know I will join in on that. If that is ok to hang with the big boys.

Re: members meeting up
hey chris and mark , thanks for replying, deb and i will definitly will be at put in bay, at least once, we stay at the crew's nest, it's private but poor people like us can stay between sunday thru thursday, and it has a real nice pool with a bar/grill.
nice place. i also hope you bring your boats too. one other thing i just joined and i just can't figure how to put extra pics up. the pic shown is a stop off at rocky river on the way to pib. the camper top shown is so shrunk that it barely fits together unless the day hits 80 degrees for stretch. however as we speak i have it with an amish fellow named eli byler of enb tarps in middlefield ohio, and he is replacing the whole top including the windows zippers, misc. hardware, for $550. no kidding , i was quoted $2000. and yes he is a tax paying citizen. and it's going to be sunbrella. i can't wait to get out overnight. talk to you later jim and deb |
Re: members meeting up
I have never stayed at the Crow's Nest, but I know exactly where it is. How much do they charge for transient slips? I usually stay on the mooring balls with mine because my friend's sailboat has a huge draft and he doesn't want to chance grounding by the dock, but when I'm on my friend's cruiser, we stay on B-Dock (aka "Party dock") :)
Let us know how the canvas replacement goes. I know quite a few people up there that use the Amish canvas businesses and have great results. That's an incredible price, I'd love to add a camper canvas package to mine. And Mark, you can join up anytime, just let us know!! |
Re: members meeting up
Most of us all live in rather large Conuntries where long travel is difficult or almost inpossible, correct? Then why dont we think about having regional get togethers that might have a chance to be attended regionally. Just an idea. I would certainly think about attending a West coast event. It would be awesome to see many/multiple Mariahs in one location at the same time. Iv'e only owned my Z212 Shabah for only a year, but have only ran into one Mariah in the water in Northern California Lakes and Delta region so far. Thanks for the great site and all the effort by those of you that put in all the hard work.

Re: members meeting up
Any Mariah owners in the OH, KY, TN, IL, VA, WVA, IN areas that would be interested in a regional get together?
