RMS Segwun on Lake Muskoka ( lots of photos)

So during the week of holidays my girlfriend and I had last week, we at least wanted to do some sightseeing and go for a ride on the Segwun up in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Enjoy

Thanks for taking the time to look through the photos.

I wanted to just post a few of them, but I had to post up a bunch of them. There are 110 photos in all if someone was curious. Not bad for for only being on the ship for 2hours time.. LOL.

thanks !:wink_thumbup:

I had a blast. I would love to do it again, but go for the dinner tour. Piloting that size of vessel was a really rewarding experience.

Lake Muskoka is Beautiful, I have spent a lot of time cruising there. If you get a chance you should do the run up through the 3 big lakes. Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph and Lake Rosoue (sp?). If you start in Gravenhurst harbour and boat out through Lake Muskoka you can go out through the north end of the lake (about 1 hr by boat) to Port Carling, Have a nice lunch or grab and ice cream cone. There are lots of nice stores on the main street as well. Then you can head through the locks into Lake Rosaeo (I'll figure it out eventually) and around through port sandfield marina into Lake Joe. There are some really phenominal cottages on the waterway. Lots of celebrities and NHL stars have their places on these lakes.

If you are looking for something a little bit more rustic, the French river is really beautiful, with very few cottages. You can put in at Schell's lodge just off highway 69 toward Sudbury, or Lake Temagami if you are really up for a road/boat trip. Be for warned though, buy the chart as there are some rocks, and the water level fluctuates by feet depending on how they have the upstream dam set.

I loved your pictures, I have seen most of the cottages, and actually know the owner of one of them. These places are unbelievable, considering that many are just seasonal access. I am looking for some nice places to go for a cruise. So far I was thinking the Ottawa river, The French again (it is a sentimental favourite) and maybe the Trent Severn out to Georgian bay.

'tis Lake "Rosseau" and the trip from Gravenhurst up thru the 'big 3' is terrific as is doing parts of the Trent Severn.

Re: RMS Segwun on Lake Muskoka ( lots of photos)

I know this is an really old sticky, but I feel bad not having any of my Segwun photos up on here if someone took the time to view my thread.

I did stop paying for the Pro Flickr account a little while ago, hence why the photos were removed from my original post (I just edited the original post tonight).

I won't be working on it tonight, but I'll consider re-enabling my Pro Flickr account again and get the photos re-uploaded so that everyone can view them again.

Keep ya posted ..

Or if you just have the pics on your computer, attach them to the original post here! then you won't have to worry about the Flickr account!
