Z302 Towing with Ecoboost or Ecodiesel

I'm itching for a new truck. The new half ton trucks with ecoboost and ecodiesel are appealing because of the higher mpg. I don't tow very often maybe 500 miles a year towing the boat to the lake the rest of my driving is normal back and forth to work. Towing capacity on these trucks are @ 10k - 11k lbs. the specs on the z302 say its @6000lbs dry, add in trailor, gear, etc it's probable getting closer to the top end of the capacity. I currently tow with an Excursion. Anyone have experience towing a boat of this size with one of these trucks?

Re: Z302 Towing with Ecoboost or Ecodiesel

I almost bought an ecoboost two weeks back for my Shabah 250. Deal fell through over the seller trading it in to a stealership. I have driven two. They are pretty awesome! I've spent a long time reading the forums and would not hesitate to buy one. Lots of good reviews. Don't be scared by the negative crap out there. More of the negative stuff makes it online than all of the positive things people don't go boasting about.
Just make sure you're looking at the ecoboost with the max tow if you are counting on the whole 11,000 tow capacity. I can't recall the capacity difference but it is not just a tow mirrors and 3.73 drive ratio package.

Id feel ok with the EcoBoost and add air bag suspension on the rear axle if you can afford it.
