Prestige Trailer - Slack in hitch

I have a 98 Z255 that is on the factory Prestige trailer. Dual axle, drum brakes on both axles. I have noticed that there is more slack when you initially start moving forward. You get more of a "clunk" than in the past. I know ther is supposed to be some slack, but it seems to be getting worse. Is this normal? It is a DICO hitch\acuator.

Assuming you have surge brakes? I know it sounds strange, but is your brake fluid reservoir on the top full? Mine clunks under takeoff when it's low, and once I dump some more in, it goes away... It even mentions that in the coupler manual which I believe is also a DICO. I'll see if I can find it and verify!
