Re: In stalling new bunks

I have a bunk style trailer for my Shabah 182 with one axle and just 2 bunks. All of my previous boats had roller trailers, so this was new for me. Mine came with the carpeting rotting off of it. I was trying t figure out how to replace the carpeting at the ramp one day when I just ripped off the carpet. Wow, underneath was a nice set of white bunk caps that ran the entire length of the trailer, which I just left on. Not sure why the previous owner covered them. I love them. The boat slides on and off easily, but not so slippery that I am afraid. I ALWAYS leave the boat winch and front hook chained until the trailer is in the water and the boat is ready to launch. They clean up great, too. No more carpet for me, ever. Also, my boat sits lower and more solidly on the bunk that those I see on rollers. I am sold. Get bunk caps!
