Trailer boat with bimini
Hello,
Is it ok to trailer your boat a (Shabah 210) with the bimini cover in the upright position (stored with sock not open ) with the support poles and windshield mount ? I worry about to much stress on windshield. Thanks for all your help |
Re: Trailer boat with bimini
Hi rooperdan,
It should be fine, I see boaters doing it all the time on the freeways coming back from the lakes. As long as the support poles are anchored to the hull and are in the rear holding the Bimini up at an angle, it'll be fine, but check the fittings to make sure everything's nice and tight to be safe. Another thing, you'll be subjecting the Bimini to any road grime and debris with it up and don't forget that it's up so you don't snag it on any low overpasses, branches or awnings... :(! The real stress comes when you run with it fully open at anywhere near cruise speeds, that's when the windshield is really put under the strain. WetWilly |

Re: Trailer boat with bimini
Sorry I dont have the make of the Bimini, but all i did was add a set of conopy adjustable tube supports from Wholesale Marina $ 55.00 and replaced the rear eye strap hardware with a set of deck hinges to mount the poles too. but it works well.
