Spotted at the end of my driveway! This boat was originally purchased by someone who lived in Rockford MI, now 17 years later it has made its way back to Rockford (Lake Bella Vista). Purchased from my dad who has owned it since 2001.Thought I'd share a pic.

That's a Z202 Limited, isn't it?

No just a standard 202 with some factory options. The stripes/graphics are decals. It does have the docking lights that I think were an option for this year. The interior is not quite as nice as the "z" as the side stowage is open (no closable bins or built in rear speakers). It has recently been wet sanded/polished and all new decals applied. About 1/2 of all interior has been redone including both bucket seats. I found a great interior guy local here that was able to rework and save all the original foam in the seats even though the outsides were in bad shape. It has taken us a few years to get it back in this shape, but been well worth it. I get many complements on this boat and wouldn't trade it for a newer "lesser" boat of quality. I'm sure you will be happy with yours. Told my wife that we now have an excuse to visit France. She said "we needed an excuse?" Maybe after the kids are grown up and gone!

I'll be happy with my 202 once:
1. The upholstery is completed 2. I can get my lazy "corpse" of a son (referring to our last thread, Brian B) to assist me in washing and waxing it 3. Get my wife to lay off about it 1998 202 Shabah 5.0L Alpha 1 |

Re: 99 Shabah 202 Rockford MI
I still have the sun deck and two front side seats to do. Did not need to do the vertical surfaces except the back seat. The guy I used was able to match the original colors exactly. It was about 2K for the work and materials. Ouch! But well worth it after I saw it done. Another grand and it should be complete. Good luck with getting the son to pitch in. After buying this boat from my dad after the first month I had to go thank him for all the years of not appreciating what it took to own/maintain a boat! Can't help you with the wife thing, mine harps on me too! I lived was stationed in JAX for three years so I kinda know the area. I'm jealous of the length of your boating season. One more month here and we are done until about late May/ early June.

What is it about wives and boats? Mine refuses to help as well

Re: 99 Shabah 202 Rockford MI
Good luck on help from other family members. I MADE my oldest son and DIL (daughter in law for future ref) pay for half the gas the last time we went out.
Haven't been out again since then. BTW. Great looking boat ! |

Wow, small world! My dad thought he saw you on 44th st? I didn't do the wet sand it was done by a detail shop on northland drive and Plainfield area. My dad had it sanded/buffed/detailed for $1000. The outside was good, inside was only done ok. This boat lived in BC for a few years (92nd st)! It has also lived on Hardy pond for 14 years (until this year) and has seen plenty of HBW! Don't think we will make this year though. I HBW retired two seasons ago. We were always on the point on a house boat. Great to meet you!

Small world it is! It wasn't me on 44th though, I avoid 44th like the plague. Would you happen to have the name to this detail shop?

www.mobileelectronicsguru.com Go to the "more options" tab then detailing. There is all the info there. I also know of a great interior guy if you ever need vinyl work done. He might be mistaken on the location, but he swore he saw me trailering it south of town. I have a Prestige trailer, he said yours looked different and that was the only difference or maybe his eyes aren't so good anymore! Have fun at HB if you go. I think I've been to at least 8 or 9. Is this your first or have you been before?

Have fun at HBW. Maybe we will come up next year. Just most of the people we used to go up there with have moved on/quit going/sold boat. Not quite the same. Let me know how it was! Be safe. Have Fun. Party Hardy.

Glad it was a good time minus the crappy weather this year. Maybe next year I'll end my temporary hiatus and see you there! We are going out tomorrow for the last time this year :(
