Do these exist? Can anyone point me in the right direction. Any insight is appreciated.

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
We did have a vendor that could supply those items but they recently advised us that they no longer have access to the templates from Sea-Fox as Sea-Fox is in the process of selling the Mariah name. You are probably better off to find a local marine canvas shop and have them made to fit your boat.

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
Thanks. I was just looking at these things called "snad" adhesive snaps. And possibly buying some canvass and cutting/making one myself

You got to remember , it is custom. The upholsterer will be in and out of the boat a couple hundred times before it is done. There is no pattern to pull off the shelf and sew it up.:( Also , it is his busiest time of year too. I bet this winter the price would drop some for sure. |
Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
Im gonna make it myself. For cost of materials. Ill post pics once I find time to tackle this project
Im not going to pay someone thousands of dollars to punch holes on a tarp for snaps and then cut to size. Seems like highway robbery. |
Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
You go for it!

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
Dude that sounds WAY to high!
I Just had mine done out of waterproof relaflex marine canvas, from scratch and paid 200 in materials (8 Yards) and 200 for labor and all new snaps, and two vents with poles! The material is twice as heavy and water resistent than sunbella. |
Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
I can get sunbella for 6$ a yard x60 "
That seems like a great deal. Im thinking I can make this cover for under 100$ total Ill see what alternatives else the fabric play has when I swing by later this week |
Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
I had a quote for my 30' Mariah bow and cockpit for $1500 at Lake of the Ozarks. Your guy seems high...

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers

Pic before I started adding on the the snaps about every foot apart. Next step is to het it hemmed for a finished product. Obviously there is a few inches of extra sunbrella all the way around which will cut down once its hemmed.

Just got the boat back with the new Custom Cockpit Cover. Forest Green Sunbrela to match the hull stripe (close anyway). $775 including all new snaps along the bottom of the windshield as there weren't any before and new snaps for the top edge to replace missing ones for the Convertible Top. All the edges are reinforced as well as reinforcement at the back for all the parts along the windshield frame and over the brackets for the top.
Here's some pics as promised. |

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers

Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
clman8585, are you still looking for a boat cover? I bought one several years ago at a local company named East Coast Canvas, West Columbia,SC Ph:803-808-2522. They did have the form for my 2007 SX18, and said that they were a supplier for Mariah covers. They put the snaps on and built a cover for me for about $1100 back in 2010(I think). The fabric is "Sunbrella", and has held up very well, but the stitching is coming loose, so they will restitch everything for about $150.
Good luck, tdczar |
Re: 2006 sx18 snap cockpit and bow covers
^ditto
I had 2 2003 sx19 boats a 4.3 with covers and a 5.0 with out. My upholster used the 4.3 covers as a template for size only not snap position, guess what? The boats beam size where different. He ended up having to cut the new cover in half and add 2 inches. I measured it and the 5.0 as larger. Moral of a story drop the boat off and be without boating for a week and try not to out smart yourself :worry_to_laugh: Even with all that I paid I think like 700 or so for mine with premium fabric see my other posts |
