bakdraft. You pic's remind me of my usual first of the season outings. The water temp is usally only a few degrees C, so the breeze at speed is a bit "cool". However it usually me perched up over ther windscreen grinning from ear to ear, my passengers dressed in winter atire, cowering under blankets in the back...:rolling_laugh:

12v.. but with 100 amps! - these movers will happily pull up 1800kg (4000 lbs ) up a 1in3 Hill - take it from me they move my 1520Kg ( 3344 lbs )caravan around like it was nothing!

The company is offering to fit one for me to try, and if I am not happy remove it for no charge... thats how confident they are... ( but then they should be for what it costs $2000 :eek_animated::eek_animated::eek_animated:)

Its funny how we use different terms! I had to Google caravan to see if I could figure out what your were talking about! It’s what we call a camper trailer.
All I could picture was a Dodge minivan!:rolling_head_grin:

Yep, lotsa different terminology over in Blighty. I read Practical Classics and watch Top Gear on TV so picking up the English meanings was easy. As Dave said though......'slipway' might be a better word given the amount of algae that is usually on the ramps! :)

Quite possibly one of the best tv shows ever! I find myself watching the BBC news quite a bit too, as they seem to cover the events in America with a non-biased view, especially in times of the nearing economic recession and the presidential debate. :)

Do your "slipways" have grooves in the concrete for added traction over there, some here have it, some don't. That definitely makes for an easier launch and retrieval. I'm assuming your Benz is 4wd, right?

Yes indeed it is a drysuit.... but then it was 32 F...... but then again, it is Britain... waiting for the sun is a fruitless task....:shakehead:

Very much agreed! By far one of my favorite shows. I've got almost every episode (aside from a couple in season 10 i'm missing) but i've watched almost all of them. Clarkson, May, and Hammond are rediculous :rolling_laugh:

Most slipways.... to the sea... are old concrete and as such are neve smooth but often a little slippy... There slopes vary quite a bit. Sometimes they have concrete hardstanding and run offs at the bottom, sometimes not.

I'll post some pictures sometime

Top Gear is a typical ' British ' sense of humor:yes_grin:

Interesting to see you enjoy it as much as the British.

Did the famous Mark Hammond crash get broadcast over there?
Also Hammond the hamster is now being towted as the Next Formula 1 comentator.

As a bunch... they get up to the craziest things....
